3. The JTA is inviting Applications from teachers for the W.A. Wesley Powell
Scholarship for Teachers. Closing date for applications is Wednesday, May
30, 2008.
4. Application forms
to access funding from the 600 million dollars Professional Development
Loan Fund may be collected from any of the branches of Capital & Credit
Merchant Bank, the Regional Offices of the Ministry of Education or
any of the Offices of the JTA. Teachers you are reminded however, that
all completed application forms must be returned to the Regional Office
of the Ministry of Education where you are employed. 5. The JTA is inviting applications for the 2008 Victoria Mutual Building
Society Bursary for Teachers. Deadline for application is July 14, 2008.
5. JTA members, you are reminded that you can access free electrocardiogram
services from the Heart Institute of the Caribbean (HIC). Offices are
located at 23 Balmoral Avenue, Kingston 10, telephone 906-2105-8. You
can also visit the Mandeville Office at Brumalia Road, telephone 625-7122.

of Technology, Jamaica, Faculty of Education & Liberal
Studies Family and Consumer Studies Programme, will present its 7th Annual
Conference; under the theme: Repositioning Family & Consumer Studies
in a Changing Society on May 22, 2008 starting & 8;30 a.m. at Alfred
